Installation

EOR is distributed as a full archive and a mod-only archive. Download the current file manually from the EOR Nexus Files page.

Choose a package

Package Use it when Includes
Release.7z You want a complete standalone installation BepInEx, EOR, custom data, assets, reports integration, pets, and mercenaries
Release_ModOnly.7z BepInEx 5.4.23.5 is already installed and working EOR and its packaged content only

The package manifest identifies the version and whether the archive is full or mod-only. Do not combine files from different EOR releases.

Optional launcher

  1. Download EnhancedOverhaulLauncher.exe and the EOR .7z or .zip from Nexus.
  2. Open the launcher and confirm or browse to the For The King II game folder.
  3. Select the downloaded EOR archive. The launcher never downloads the mod itself.
  4. Select Install / Update.
  5. Use Verify after installation, then launch the game.

The Windows launcher detects Steam libraries, validates archive structure, installs only the selected EOR package, records SHA-256 hashes, restores replaced originals during uninstall, and preserves user-modified managed files. Its version check only reads the published version and opens the Nexus Files page when an update is available.

Manual installation

  1. Close For The King II.
  2. Open the game directory, normally Steam\steamapps\common\For The King II.
  3. Extract the chosen archive into that directory, preserving its folder structure.
  4. For a full archive, winhttp.dll, doorstop_config.ini, and BepInEx should be at the game root.
  5. Confirm BepInEx\plugins\EnhancedOverhaulRemix.dll and BepInEx\plugins\EnhancedOverhaulRevamped exist.
  6. Start the game and check the EOR version/build marker on the main menu and in BepInEx\LogOutput.log.

Updating

Close the game and install the complete new archive over the previous EOR installation. A partial overwrite is a common cause of old class traits, missing models, mismatched item data, and multiplayer signature failures. The launcher is preferred because it tracks managed files and verifies hashes.

Uninstalling

Use the launcher's Uninstall action when the launcher performed the install. For a manual install, remove only files supplied by EOR; do not remove shared BepInEx files if other mods use them. Back up saves and configuration first. See Save Compatibility before loading an EOR save without the mod.

First launch

The first launch can take longer while BepInEx initializes and EOR merges content. Wait for the main menu rather than terminating the process during normal startup work. If it never completes, follow Troubleshooting.
