Follow Tutorial: Flame Cleave on Ember Axe. It contains the complete compilable 0.5.9 public API flow for localization, template creation, gameplay overrides, ability activation, per-item SkillRollData, dependent weapon activation, and cleanup order.

The same ExampleMod ability completed native inventory, equipment, combat-button, selection, execution, and correlated damage validation in FTK2 1.14.6.
